Introduction

This is a multidisciplinary health course designed for public health practitioners and others intending to develop skills and knowledge in public health.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A Bachelor of Science plus a minimum two years of relevant post-bachelor degree work experience. Work experience is assessed on the basis of the following - level of seniority and responsibility, job description, work based referee support, publications or other written reports and short courses or conference attendance. Where applicants do not meet the two year work requirements, they may study the course on a part-time basis.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is of four semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. External study is also available.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Public Health or the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information. Students may not apply for both awards.
