Introduction

This course further develops the ability to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate systems of health care delivery. It is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to uphold senior management, administrative and planning positions within health service institutions. It is aimed at both health professionals wishing to acquire management and administrative skills and non-health professionals intending to seek a career in health services management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Approved health science degrees although graduates from other backgrounds will also be considered. Applicants with the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Administration will be eligible to apply and have completed units credited.

Specific Requirements

Applicants for this course should refer to the Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication.

Duration and Availability

The course is three semesters full time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Administration may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.
