The politics of development. An examination of politics in non industrial, primarily agrarian societies which since World War II have become independent nation states. Two regions, East Africa and the South Pacific, and two countries in the regions, Kenyain East Africa and Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific, provide case studies for detailed consideration.
