The radiographic image. Factors affecting contrast and image quality. Quantum mottle. Sharpness and resolution. Measures of image quality including point spread, line spread and modulation transfer functions. Noise and the Wiener spectrum. Fourieranalysis and its use in radiographic imaging. Image intensifier and electronic images. Filters. Image systems, digital imaging, computed radiography, digitization, computer manipulation, computer storage of digital images, computer analysis of images, digital image quality, image display devices, interactive programming, hard copy imaging production and the development of diagnostic imaging systems, including picture archiving computer systems (PACS). Images in radiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, digital and digital imaging subtraction, tomography, positron emission tomography (PET) and single proton emission tomography (SPECT). Image quality of all facets of medical imaging. Image processing and manipulation.
