Conservation equations for mass, momentum and heat. A comparison of various numerical techniques for Computational Fluid Dynamics (introduction to finite difference and finite element methods). Solution to discretized algebraic equations. Finite volume method for diffusion problems. Finite volume method for convection and diffusion problems - pressure velocity coupling. Construction of geometry and discretization (using Gambit - FLUENT's manuals). Commercial CFD solvers. Turbulence modeling. Implementation of boundary conditions. Introduction to multiphase flow. Customising a commercial CFD solver. Unsteady state simulations.
