Examination of stress and strain in rock, processes and mechanisms of rock failure, deformational and non-deformational structures, fabric elements and processes, recognition, classification and interpretation of major geological structures, interpretation of geological maps, geometrical analysis of geological structures using structural contours, and orthographic and stereographic projection techniques.
