The scope an purpose of regional planning and development in metropolitan and country regions, The process of regional planning and the techniques used at each stage. Workshops in current regional planning problems and issues in Perth, non-metro regions in Western Australia and in other cities and regions. Briefings on regional planning topics including metropolitan form, legislation, regional administration, population growth, housing, community identity, human and physical services, economic development, resource protection, co-ordination and plan implementation. Practical assignment s to explore the planners response to regional planning problems and opportunities.
