Origin and structure of the solar system. Internal structure and properties of the solid earth. Formation and general properties of the atmosphere and oceans. Interactions between solid earth, ocean and atmosphere. Electromagnetic forces between molecules. Surface tension and viscosity. Ideal and non-ideal gases. Isothermal and adiabatic processes. Entropy.
