MCom(Curtin)

Introduction

This course is designed for those with a degree in information processing, information systems or equivalent who wish to develop skills related to the development and management of information systems.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

For entry into Stage I, candidates must hold a degree in Information Systems, Commerce or Computer Science from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or an equivalent qualification. For entry into Stage II of the course, a candidate must hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Information Systems) or an appropriate honours degree.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee=paying course is of two years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Information Systems) may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Course Organisation

In the first year of the course students undertake one stream based on their previous background.

Additional Course Expenses

As far as possible the course will be supported electronically with each student required to have access to a home or office personal computer with connections to the Internet.
