Syllabus: | This unit explains the principles and practice of analysing data that were obtained under controlled conditions, such as a laboratory experiments or field trials. It covers the use of linear, generalised linear and non-linear models, emphasising practical techniques for data analysis. The key concept of 'sources of variability' and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) serve as guiding principles. The unit also introduces elementary concepts in the design of experiments, such as confounding, and methods for design and analysis of computer simulated experiments. |
