Syllabus: | This unit deals with the design, development, and application of visualisation and interpretation of data and information in the context of information, industrial, data, scientific, or cultural visualisations. Students will apply their skills and understanding to identify, collect, and manage visualisations and interpretations related to one or more specific disciplines in order to process and present these using interactive visual technologies. Enabling advanced and easy interpretation of data and information across contexts is in the foreground. The unit focuses in particular on the presentation of data, cognition and perception, and interaction with the data interpretation as such. In the foreground are the processes of knowledge creation and turning data to knowledge through visualisations. Students are expected to explore various methods and select those best suited to convey the results in a compelling informative way. The unit will encourage engagement with several disciplines to complete the visualisation and interpretation process, enhancing students’ individual and collaborative skills. |
