UNIT REFERENCES, TEXTS, OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: | The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline. |
Syllabus: | The unit will include the application of Global Positioning System (GPS) in mine surveying and its resulting survey error analysis, adjustments and propagation of errors. Discussion of mine site transformation of coordinate systems will be developed along with check surveys and survey adjustments. The adjustment analysis will be carried out using the theory of Least Squares, and includes the development of the functional and stochastic models, Data processing and analysis, functional and stochastic models. This will include the Least Squares adjustment solutions for 1D and 2D networks as well as the statistical assessment of adjustment results. |
