Syllabus: | Computer network applications rapidly develop with the massive proliferation use of the internet in the world. The unit describes the overview of the Internet Protocol (IP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), User Diagram Protocol (UDP) and Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP). The students will learn the conceptual and programming of network applications in TCP/UDP/SCTP/IP environments using sockets. The students will have hands-on experience in writing client-server network program using TCP, UDP and SCTP sockets, input/output multiplexing, socket options, name and address conversions, process/thread, and client-server design alternatives. |
