This stream has been developed for the nurse who is working in the clinical area and wishes to expand their professional competence to an advanced level whilst concurrently undertaking an academically sound course which embraces evidence based practice and critical thinking. This stream covers core aspects of high dependency nursing. The focus is on the development of advanced knowledge and clinical proficiency in the nursing care of high acuity patients. It includes the assessment and management of patients who require high level monitoring and management of their condition, including single organ failure.

Duration and Availability
This stream is not available to international students studying in Australia on a student visa. The High Dependency Nursing Stream is offered part-time due to the concurrent employment requirements relevant to this discipline.
