Specifically, the Clinical Leadership major enhances professional career development, preparing health professionals for clinical leadership in a health care setting. Clinical theory and research, as well as professional role development, are an integral part of the major, which is focused on the development of the multiple roles of clinical leaders and prepares them for managerial and leadership roles within health care teams, units and organisations. The major is offered through the Curtin Singapore campus. Fundamental to this major is the development of leadership, critical thinking and clinical decision making capacity, preparing health professionals for a leadership role at an executive level.
Major/Stream Entry and Completion Details
Specifically applicants are required to be currently registered with an appropriate overseas Registration Board for Allied Health Professionals, Nurses or Doctors, or be eligible for registration in their home country. Applicants must hold a recognised bachelor's degree or higher, with a high course weighted average (greater than 70 percent) and a minimum of one year post registration clinical experience.
Major Entry/Completion Note
This major is not available to international students studying in Australia on a study visa.

A graduate of this course can:
1. apply discipline knowledge, principles and concepts in accordance with relevant practice codes, standards and legislation
2. apply critical thinking and reflective practice to clinical practice to generate innovative solutions
3. access, evaluate and synthesise information relevant to clinical leadership and the promotion of optimal outcomes for clients
4. communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients, carers, families, communities and the interdisciplinary health care team
5. utilise technology safely and appropriately for the diagnosis and management of clients
6. participate in research and critically appraise research findings and incorporate evidence based knowledge into clinical practice
7. relate policy, practices and standards to international trends
8. demonstrate cultural competence in the care of all clients, families and communities
9. demonstrate professional, legal and ethical accountability within the scope of practice for safe health care delivery
