UNIT REFERENCES, TEXTS, OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline.
Syllabus: Explore the interrelated nature of contemporary creative practice in the four principal disciplines as well as other fields through a series of seminars and workshops. In the seminar sessions, they will be introduced to the history and role of creative practice in various cultures, and the place of creative practice in contemporary society, both from an aesthetic, cultural and industry perspective, and invited to research and discuss key issues from the various topics. Through the workshop sessions, students will be asked to consider a number of creative tasks both as individuals and in groups, through which they will be introduced to different ways of approaching and managing creative production. Students will also be introduced to the impact new technologies on traditional creative practice and how to apply these technologies effectively in their own work.
