UNIT REFERENCES, TEXTS, OUTCOMES AND ASSESSMENT DETAILS: The most up-to-date information about unit references, texts and outcomes, will be provided in the unit outline.
Syllabus: Acute and chronic wound healing; application of evidence informed wound management; comprehensive assessment of the individual, wound and healing environment; lower leg and neuro-ischaemic foot assessment; prediction, prevention, assessment and management of pressure ulcers and skin tears; nursing care of surgical wounds and stomas; clinical skills including: insertion and removal of simple sutures and staples, care of drains and percutaneous tubes, wound debridement, management of draining wounds and stomas; documentation of assessment outcomes and care interventions.
