Syllabus: Principles of philosophical reasoning and the art of argument. Moral reasoning, obligations and morality, professionalism and ethics. Human rights and the international conventions. Human and animal experimentation. National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines. Research and ethics, the significance of research proposals and the meaning of trivia. Ethical dilemmas.
