Syllabus: Introduction to field surveying. Angular measurements - theodolite and total station, distance measurements - steel band and electronic distance meters, elevation measurements - levels and differential levelling methods. Calibration and validation of survey instruments. Traversing and traverse calculations. Electronic processing and display of spatial data. GPS surveying. Underground surveying methods.
