Syllabus: Extension of current understanding of human resources management (HRM) and industrial relations (IR) beyond current theories, roles and functions towards a critical evaluation of its present and future contributions to organisational success. It encompasses both conceptual and applied aspects of HRM and IR and adopts an analytical approach to the themes and issues which challenge the future significance of the discipline, thus complementing earlier functional units. Not based on traditional lecture andtutorial format, requiring substantial student input in both content and format.
