Syllabus: This thesis is a self-directed exploration of an urban design topic of the students' choice, which may be submitted for examination in the form of either a written dissertation alone or a written dissertation, plus a design proposal. Both types of products are presented to an external jury for final review where students are expected to position their work in the context of contemporary urban design theory and to defend their research conclusions and/or design propositions.
