Syllabus: Morphology, structure and development of the ocean basins and continental shelves. Major processes and environmental factors influencing nature of the sea floor. Distribution and origin of shelf and deep sea deposits and economic resources. Structure and development of ocean floor features: ridges, island arcs, trenches, abyssal plains, hills and seamounts.
