Syllabus: Explores key theories in information behaviour research to better understand how humans engage in seeking, managing and using information. Discussions are underpinned by models and theories drawn from communication theory and information science. Information behaviour is related to the development of better information systems. Analysis of research methods used in information science to understand human information behaviour. Students undertake a three-week full-time placement in an information servicein the period before the commencement of the semester.
