Syllabus: Materials and inventory management as part of the logistics process. Planning and control of inventory, purchasing, procurement and production. Warehousing and storage. Just in time (JIT), materials requirement planning (MRP), distribution requirements planning. Supplier selection, evaluation and outsourcing. Measurement and evaluation of materials management activities. Integrating materials management, transportation and order processing logistics functions.
