Introduction

The Postgraduate Diploma in Physics has been designed to provide opportunities for both practising professionals and recent graduates to extend their scientific competence in an area of chosen specialisation. This advanced program is by coursework with options in physical methods of analysis, atmospheric and marine sciences. Instrumentally oriented units and projects provide opportunities to develop a high level of analytical and experimental skill. Instrumental units offered include x-ray analysis, radiometric techniques of analysis, mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, satellite oceanography and satellite meteorology. Other units in the fields of properties of materials, marine physics and meteorology are available.
