Lecture: 1 x 0.5 Hours Weekly
Studio: 2 x 3 Hours Weekly
Prerequisite(s): 12415 (v.4) Architecture Design 401 or any previous version
 
Syllabus: One of the three design studio modules offered in the same semester - urban design, praxis and complex buildings. Urban design - the analysis of urban contexts, urban design considerations, place marking. Public spaces between buildings integrated with the designing of a new and old buildings and statutory limits on project design. Praxis - a practice oriented unit incorporating the resolution of an architectural project to an appropriate level of detail. Each project will be tutored by a prominent localarchitectural practice with the input of various building consultants. The unit will also study the relationship between drawing, specifications, budgets, bills of quantity and contracts. Complex - the design, planning and analysis of building projects selected jointly by staff and students and having an appropriate degree of complexity and size.
