Lecture: 1 x 3 Hours Weekly

Syllabus: Exploration of the new professional challenges arising from the global interface. Introduction of methodologies with which to study international professional engagement from a comparative perspective. The contents provide a 'tool-kit' facilitating the development of a global mindset for executives and professionals as they are challenged by the complexities of the global logic of corporations, governments, NGOs and multi-lateral agencies. The essential strategic parameters guiding organisations and societies as they respond to the imperatives of globalisation are explored at both conceptual and practical levels through a series of frameworks. Nine frameworks are given special analytical importance in understanding the international studies for the 21st century context. These frameworks provide participants with an understanding of what is required for successful global competency.
