Introduction

An ideal starting point for those wishing to enhance their skills and upgrade their formal qualifications. Opportunity will be provided to develop skills in futures thinking, gain an understanding of anticipated issues of concern for the future and systems thinking and applicability in a futures context.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution and work experience at a senior level. Applications from those who do not possess a bachelor degree but who have substantial work experience may be considered.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis. Exemptions should be discussed with the Academic Coordinator and applications made when enrolling.

Duration and Availability

The minimum course duration is one semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Units are available only once per year.

Course Organisation

The course consists of four units, three of them delivered in an intensive, block format, which is two full days per week for three weeks. The elective (dependent on choice) may be undertaken in a different format and is selected after discussion with the Academic Coordinator.

Career Opportunities

There are many opportunities to apply the skills learnt in this course to the workplace. These opportunities exist in private, government and non-government organisations and in the areas of management, strategy, policy and planning.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
