Introduction

The modern chemical laboratory includes a wide range of instrumentation for the analysis of chemical substances, and a student studying this minor will gain insights into the application of Analytical Chemistry in the minerals and petroleum industries, as well as forensic science. To gain entry into this minor, students must have completed TEE Chemistry or equivalent, Chemistry 101 and Chemistry 102.

N1 The normal sequence of units is Chemistry 101 and Analytical Chemistry 112 followed by second year Chemistry units. Other similar level units may be substituted on consultation with the Head of Applied Chemistry or Undergraduate Coordinator.
NB To satisfy the requirements of this minor, students must complete 100 credits of Chemistry units including at least 50 credits of second year Chemistry units.
