Introduction

Designed to provide the theoretical foundations and techniques of management, law, logistics purchasing, and contract administration via case studies and practical business applications. A range of issues are studied that are applicable to strategic procurement, including competitive conduct, strategy, logistics and management.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelor degree in a business, commerce or economics discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. Some units are available in the evening.

Professional Recognition

Graduates are eligible to meet the requirements leading to full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the United Kingdom.

Career Opportunities

Graduates are expected to obtain employment in both the public and private sectors. Public sector employers are State Supply Commission, Department of Contract and Management Services, and local government authorities. Private sector employers include large commercial organisations and mining companies.
