Introduction

This course is designed for those seeking an understanding of professional accounting and who may intend to progress into the Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting course. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of, and competenciesin, Australian and international accounting and auditing concepts, methods and practices, and thereby equips them for a professional accounting career. It enhances students' capabilities in conceptual thinking in interpersonal and communicating skills and in the use of analytical methods required for effective diagnosis of accounting theories, concepts and techniques.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A degree from a recognised institution in a field other than accounting or significant relevant work experience (typically three - five years).

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are not considered within this course.

Duration and Availability

This fee-paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Course Organisation

The course is made up of four core units, totalling 100 credits. It encompasses a broad range of professional accounting concepts and equips students for professional practice.
