Introduction

This course provides a qualification for people working in the mining industry who are interested in furthering their studies into the corporate and resources administration side of the mining industry.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Either a postgraduate diploma in corporate and resources administration or its equivalent, or a graduate certificate in corporate and resources administration or its equivalent, or a bachelors degree in business, commerce or a related field from a recognised tertiary entrance institution or equivalent qualification. Applicants would normally be expected to have a minimum of two years relevant employment experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Corporate Resources and Administration or the Postgraduate Diploma in Business (Corporate Resources and Administration) may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Career Opportunities

Employment for graduates is mainly in the corporate and administrative departments of mining companies, and in State and Federal Government departments dealing with corporate resources.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.
