305767 v.1 Work and Entertainment in the New Economy Minor

Introduction

Long term structural changes in national and international economies and radical changes in information and communications technologies over the past quarter century have been accompanied by very real changes in the experience of work and the commodification of leisure. This minor provides a wide range of units relevant to technological change and changing patterns and organisation of work and entertainment. It offers strong sociological and historical underpinnings as a framework for exploring these changes as well as the option to undertake cross-disciplinary studies in related areas of anthropology and economic thought.
