305339 v.1 Global Economics and Finance Double Major

Introduction

Economic theory and policy has an important role in describing and analysing the changes occurring in national economies and in the relationship between economies. Finance complements the role of economics by analysing the financial relationship betweenfirms and individuals. This double major provides a detailed understanding of contemporary economic and financial issues that relate to a changing global environment, with an emphasis on Australia, East Asia and North America. It caters for those seeking careers as economists or financial analysts in both the private and public sector. Graduates in Economics are eligible for Associate Professional Membership of the Economics Society of Australia (Western Australian Branch).
