Introduction

This professional masters program provides opportunities for health professionals to enhance professional career development in Occupational Therapy. It produces graduates who are informed of current trends and are able to critically analyse and determine best practice through enhanced knowledge, skills and clinical research competencies.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, together with a minimum of one year's clinical experience.

Specific Requirements

Where the course requires clinical practice or entry into clinical areas applicants should refer to the Communicable Diseases and Criminal Record Screening/Clearance Section of this publication.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis, especially with extensive work experience and clinical specialisation or significant publication and research experience.

Duration and Availability

This course is currently being revised and is not accepting enrolments in 2005. For further information please contact the School of Occupational Therapy. This fee paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. All units are offered through distance education mode and available to local and international students. Some units are available on-shore.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials.

Special Note

This course does not lead to a higher level by research degree. Students interested in research, should consult the Master of Science (Occupational Therapy) section of the handbook.
