Introduction

This course provides a professional award for graduates in medical science or related areas interested in biomedical science. Students develop an understanding of the latest techniques involved in the relevant areas of biomedical sciences as well as undertaking an extensive review of the literature and carrying out a supervised research project. It also provides the opportunity to take coursework units from other disciplines, for example, computing or business.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

An approved undergraduate degree in medical science or a related area, and at least two years relevant work experience.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. It can be completed in one calendar year.

Intermediate Awards

A student enrolled in this course who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Sciences may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.
