Syllabus:

Factors affecting contemporary aquatic ecosystems. Limitations imposed by physical conditions, community structure, water quality, eutrophication, management of aquatic ecosystems. Distribution and evolution of particular species - interspecies interactions, competition, predation and inhibition between species. Biogeography as exemplified in aquatic ecosystems. Adaption and evolution shown by aquatic organisms.
