Admission: Requisite upon prior completion of two of the following units: Phys Chem 301, Inorg Chem 301, Org Chem 301, Analyt Chem 301, Physical Chem 302 or Org Chem 302 . These requisites may be waived if doing Applied Chemistry/Extractive Metallurgy course.
 

Syllabus:

Experience in designing and carrying out systematic investigation into a chemical problem to develop an independence of working, experimental design and an ability to review critically the work of themselves and others. Undertake preliminary literature search on a topic which may involve use of computer-based literature.
