Syllabus:

Nuclear Medicine Component - Principles of nuclear medicine imaging of various systems and organs: skeletal, pulmonary, cardiovascular, endocrine and central nervous systems, renal, gastro-intestinal (GI) tract (including blood loss), liver, spleen and infection/inflammatory disease imaging. Radionuclide therapy and tracer principles. Integration and application of the common studies and practical aspects of instrumentation. Radiopharmacy Component - Production of radionuclides: characteristics and basic concepts of the chemistry of radiopharmaceuticals, Manufacture and use of cold kits. Radiopharmaceutical preparation, dispensing, behavior in vivo. Labeling blood components. Non imaging radiopharmaceuticals. Practical application of the basic principles. Computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MRI) and Interventional Component - CT and MRI scanning. Asepsis. Arthrography. Myelography, use of catheters in vascular radiography, venography. Interventional radiography, neuro-radiography, cardiac catheterization, vascular angiography, digital subtraction angiography.
