Mine Environment - mine atmosphere. Dust and dust explosions. Heat. Radiation. Gases - toxic gases and vapours, explosive gases. diesel exhaust products and dilution factors, methane and explosive mixture. Toxic substances. Mine fires. Mine lighting. Noise. Mine ventilation - basic airflow theory. Airflow and pressure measurements. Mechanical and natural ventilation. Fan engineering. Airflow control - regulators, doors, evasees, booster fans. Main and auxiliary ventilation. Recirculation. Network analysis. Computerised analysis of mine ventilation. Ventilation surveys. Ventilation economics. Cooling and refrigeration. Mine Psychrometry.
