Syllabus:

Structure in metals and alloys, solidification of metallic systems. Precipitation reactions in solids: hardening systems, thermally stable structures - dispersion hardened systems. Eutectoid transformations, martensite formation, martensites. Development of specific properties in alloys, high strength, creep resistance and oxidation resistance.
