Crystallography, BCC, FCC, HCP, packing density, Miller indices, interruption. Structure of metals, alloys, ceramics, plastics, rubbers, glasses. Crystalline defect. Kinetics of crystallisation. XRD. Metallography, sample preparation, use of optical microscope.
