Syllabus:

Explores the potential of Design Methodologies applied to a variety of discipline areas. Students are guided in the use of existing design methods such as value analysis and are required to use them in the completion of design tasks of their own choice. There is an emphasis on innovation and creativity in the application of existing methods and the design of novel methodologies. Team work is encouraged as this is an important aspect of the design industries. Exploration of the following related fields - Information systems, Engineering and Construction Management. These methods will be adapted to work in the following fields - Graphic Design, Product Design and Multi-media Design. Encourages a systematic approach to the design process from information gathering to creative solutions. Students in some of the Design Major areas will be able to apply these techniques and methodologies to their own course work.
