Introduction, cultivation, batch and continuous reactors, solid-state fermentations; Scale-up of bioreactors; instrumentation and control; sterilization of process fluids; Recovering and purifying products, integration of reaction and separation; Structure and biochemistry of animal cells; products of animal cell cultures; Plant cells in culture, bioreactors for: suspension cultures; and organized tissues; Influence of product on process design, choosing host-vector systems, genetic instability.
