Bioenergetics 1 and 2. Concepts of metabolism. Glycolysis. Citric acid cycle. Energy from fatty acids. Electron transport chain 1 and 2. Fasting and fed state. Integration and regulation of metabolism. Pancreatic hormones. Insulin action and diabetes. Glucagon and cyclic AMP. Other hormonal mechanisms.
