Syllabus:

Overview of international health, patterns of disease and health in developed and developing countries, resurgent and emergent diseases, health impact of globalisation, climate change and militarism. Background and context of primary health care, health program policy, health and development, the socio-cultural context of health and illness, the economics of health care, health and community development, community participation. Common major health problems - diarrhoea, acute respiratory infections, malnutrition, malaria, tuberculosis, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, family planning and reproductive health.
