Syllabus:

An introduction to discourses of development that have underpinned development policy and practice over the past 100 years. Among the discourses examined are colonial development thinking, modernisation theory, dependency and world-systems theory, marxist and neo-marxist approaches, neo-liberalism, and post-colonial development theory.
