Introduction


This course is designed to provide basic pedagogical theory and understanding to trainers, and to give experience of teaching in a supervised setting. Practical application of theory is emphasised, and opportunity is given for the application of theory to teaching and learning. Fieldwork forms an integral part of the course and focuses on activities related to teaching and learning and the development and assessment of modules and materials.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


A bachelors degree, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised institution. Applicants must provide evidence of current teaching, training or staff development reponsibilities in which the practical requirements of the course can be satisfied.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability


This fee-paying course is of one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study. Units are offered through a variety of flexible and open learning modes.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
