Introduction


Development of sophisticated, critical and conceptual skills in understanding and evaluating the media and information institutions of our world - analysing film, radio, television, print, the Internet and the convergence of all these media forms. This major answers key questions that confront media-saturated societies, understanding globalisation, media corporations and the impact of information and communication technologies in the digital world. Critical analysis and the application of ideas to real opportunities. To complete the major, students undertake eight units in Media Studies leading to Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies), plus one of three minors and two electives units of their choice.
