Introduction


This course is designed to provide graduates with the necessary skills in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, accounting, law, computing and demographics to prepare them for employment as financial advisors in commerical organisations involving insurance companies, superannuation funds, banks, other financial institutions and governments.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites


Applicable Mathematics. Calculus is desirable. If Calculus is not studied, then a bridging unit may be required.

Specific Requirements


The STAT is not accepted for entry to this course.

Note


In certain cases, the need to complete special units may result in an extension of studies beyond the normal length of the course.

Recognition of Prior Learning


Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability


This course is three years full-time study.

Professional Recognition


Accreditation is being sought from the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

Additional Course Expenses


Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
